It was September 2005 and I had just waded into
New Orleans with my dearest friend Deb.I was fortunate. The high water line was just over my kitchen countertops.Through the muck and mud we determined there wasn’t much to salvage but ourselves.I had been a Realtor in one of the most famous neighborhoods in the world. My daily runs to the office were full of history and architecture.Every sense of mine had been awakened living in
New Orleans .Now everything was quiet and still.Deb and I could hear the Hueys overhead and around us everyone we knew and passed was suffering in some way.
I sought refuge at my parents home in
Atlanta .Determined to show my daughter that second acts are possible we began to daydream Orleans Couture. My daughter Sophie gets all of the credit for our name.
Orleans Couture has been a featured vendor at some of Atlanta’s premiere shopping events such as The Sugarloaf Holiday Home Tour, Paces Academy Fall Artist Market,
International
School ’s Holiday Artist Market, Christ The King’s Holiday Market and various Realtor functions. We always donate a portion of our sales to local womens and childrens charities in Atlanta.
